Madam Secretary

“we’re gonna solve problems by killing people and violating the law but that’s okay because I’m a bureaucrat and laws don’t apply to me”

You can already tell just from the previews that it’s an incredibly sappy show that’s really just a bunch of buzzwords and “political drama”.

Apparently some American kids get kidnapped in Syria or some such in the pilot which airs some time in September I think.

Shark Week 2014

Shark Week is back on Discovery starting August 10th and it looks absolutely terrible.
Besides playing the exact same reruns during the day as last year… Discovery’s new content isn’t exactly new. It’s the same sort of nonsense as last years atrocious Shark Week. “Look a big shark. Look a shark bit somebody. THEY GOT TEETH OH MY”

If you were looking to hear new stuff about frilled sharks or even just learn a little tidbit you hadn’t known before, Shark Week ain’t gonna help you. You’d probably be better off with Nat Geo Wild.

On a positive note though, there is one episode in the shark week lineup that might just get your nature juices going… Keep an eye out for Alien Sharks Return to the Abyss.

2014 Shark Week Lineup

Lair of the Mega Shark “famed shark experts Jeff Kerr and Andy Casagrande head to New Zealand on a life-or-death mission to investigate the sightings of a 20 foot Great White”

Zombie Sharks “explores tonic immobility, a catatonic zombie-like state that can be achieved in sharks.”

Alien Sharks Return to the Abyss “shark researcher Paul Clerkin heads to the Indian Ocean to investigate the ocean’s darkest depths”

Monster Hammerhead “explores a legendary hammerhead shark that has been patrolling Florida’s shores for the past 60 years.”

Great White Matrix “features legendary shark attack survivor Paul de Gelder and cameraman Andy Casagrande on an expedition into the deadly shark infested waters of Australia.”

Air Jaws ” In Air Jaws: Fins of Fury Natural History producer Jeff Kurr and his team return using incredible new cameras and high tech underwater gadgetry to track down the missing “mega-shark” named Colossus.”

Jaws Strikes Back “marine biologist Greg Skomal and the REMUS* SharkCam team travel to the remote Pacific island of Guadalupe to film the hunting behavior of the largest great white sharks on earth.”

I Escaped Jaws 2 “is a shark special featuring attack stories told from the perspective of the survivor.”

Shark of Darkness, Submarine Returns “explores the legend of “Submarine,” an enormous great white shark off the coast of South Africa. ”
