B+W Counterfeit Lens Filters Continued – Soograin

We have gotten to the point where I have to give you guys endless warnings about very suspicious sellers / filters on the Amazon dot com… I have no idea how to make such an endless stream of information easily digestible so I’m just going to do a recap of old suspicious sellers and add new sellers to this article.

And as a reminder, I do not know 100% that the filters I’m discussing are counterfeit. As I have explained previously, this is all about incredibly suspicious behavior that matches up with the behavior of other counterfeiters and Amazon scammers. I am not going to further enrich, and possibly further encourage, counterfeiters by purchasing their product just so I can go “HA! Gotcha…” while Amazon does absolutely nothing about it.

A new pattern is emerging… Last week the Amazon seller Chang Zhanh sold cheap looking clothing and then suddenly added B+W filters to their store. The Amazon seller Soograin seems to be doing the exact same thing but with cheap jewelry and a vacuum cleaner.

Soograin was the first seller listed for the B+W XS-Pro 52mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, and 77mm lens filters.

Following the previous pattern, Soograin listed the 62mm B+W filter for 10 cents under the authentic one sold by Amazon. By undercutting other sellers prices, Soograin is manipulating Amazon’s inherent behavior, which is to show the lowest priced seller, to push their suspicious products while appearing to be genuine.

This pattern has repeated itself for almost a year now.

As a reminder, authentic B+W filters come sealed with a holographic sticker. Remember the seal should be unbroken.

Update

Currently, every single B+W XS-Pro Clear with Multi-Resistant Nano Coating (007M) lens filter listing shows the authentic shipped and sold by Amazon filters. So it seems that for the moment Amazon has in fact gotten control of its own website… so that’s nice. I hope this will be the end of it.
