Crybaby Trump Whines after Meryl Streep Mentions Him

apparently donald trump can’t take even the mildest of criticism???

So here we are… ten days until the presidential inauguration and Trump’s compulsive use of Twitter is as bothersome as ever.

The Story

President-elect Donald Trump took to Twitter on Monday, calling Meryl Streep “one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood” following her speech Sunday night at the Golden Globe awards

While “overrated” is an opinion, Streep, who took aim at Trump in her speech while accepting the Globes lifetime achievement award, holds the record for the most Academy Award nominations of any actor. She has earned 19 Oscar nominations and three wins, as well as a record 29 Golden Globe nominations and eight wins, and two Emmy Awards.
Plus there’s a Presidential Medal of Freedom, not to mention 10 People’s Choice Awards, two British Academy Film Awards, four National Society of Film Critics Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Kennedy Center Honor and has been named a Commandeur de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, the highest civilian honor given by the French government.

She’s also earned a Tony Award nomination, five Grammy Award nominations, the American Film Institute’s Life Achievement Award, an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain, an American Comedy Award, an Irish Film and Television Award, two Italian Online Movie Awards, two Teen Choice Award nominations and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Additionally, there have been honors from film critics from Toronto, St. Louis, San Francisco, Phoenix, Palm Springs, New Jersey, Iowa, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Florida, North Texas, Oklahoma and Washington, D.C.

Okay.

First off, no duh “‘overrated’ is an opinion“??? Did you honestly feel the need to write that?

Next up, “FACT CHECK”? How do you FACT CHECK an opinion?

Lastly, let’s be clear…Donald Trump is allowed to feel that Streep is overrated… this is America and that’s his prerogative. That really isn’t an issue.

As an aside… I myself am no fan of Meryl Streep. I at times have also felt that she is overrated… but that’s mostly after having to read people’s weird fawning comments over her. It is however quite clear, regardless of my or Trump’s feelings, that she is a talented actor.

The real issue, the reason why his opinionated Twitter comment is newsworthy, is why Trump said Streep was overrated…

Donald Trump’s Response to Meryl Streep’s Mentioning of Him

Trump didn’t say that Meryl Streep is overrated as a reaction to her winning an award… no he said it because she criticized him. It was a petty reaction to some criticism.

And that’s sad.

I find it wildly offensive that Donald Trump, somebody who is supposed to be a representative of the American people, is spending his time insulting American citizens. Trump was snotty to Arnold Schwarzenegger and now he’s being snotty about Meryl Streep… just… *sigh*

I am looking forward to when Trump officially becomes President and the nutters start getting enraged because “it’s disrespectful” to call him by his name and not “President Trump”. It will be disgustingly ironic.

The People’s Response

But hey… bad things can lead to good things.

The head of the Committee to Protect Journalists tells THR that hundreds of “average people” have been making donations to the organization since the actress’ fiery anti-Trump speech. Says Joel Simon of the president-elect: “He’ll be angry, no question.”

Considering that Trump isn’t even President yet and he’s criticizing Americans at a pretty quick pace… Journalists, writers, artists… anybody who speaks… is probably going to need a huge amount of help over the next four years.
