New Podcasts for the Foreign Policy and Security Crowd

I don’t know if people were simply inspired to create new media products because of Donald Trump’s unprecedented election win… or if they came up with the idea after they took note of a surge in consumer interest in funding existing media companies as well as some new ones…

Regardless, we have two new podcasts that will discuss security / foreign policy / etc.

The first new podcast…

Welcome to Bombshell. This new bi-weekly series, brought to you by War on the Rocks, is hosted by three of your favorite Washington insiders who will dissect today’s foreign policy crises and tomorrow’s security challenges. Our hosts — Loren DeJonge Schulman, Radha Iyengar Plumb, and Erin Simpson — will talk military strategy, White House mayhem, and the best cocktails known to (wo)man.

Please remember to keep a healthy amount of skepticism… if you don’t stay skeptical it is so incredibly easy to get sucked into this weird narrow viewpoint of the world that is so common in the defense think tank and news landscape.

If you remember that and vary your news sources this podcast could be a fantastic addition to your reading / listening rotation.

But hey, the fun doesn’t stop there.

The second new podcast…

Intercepted with Jeremy Scahill
By The Intercept / Panoply

The people behind The Intercept’s fearless reporting and incisive commentary—Jeremy Scahill, Glenn Greenwald, Betsy Reed and others—discuss the crucial issues of our time: national security, civil liberties, foreign policy, and criminal justice. Plus interviews with artists, thinkers, and newsmakers who challenge our preconceptions about the world we live in.

I imagine that’ll end up being pretty interesting…

Anyways… I wish them the best. New media products, regardless of viewpoints, are an important part of society and it’s always good to see them pop-up.
