London Has Fallen – Thoughts

That had to be the dumbest movie trailer that I’ve seen in a long time.

After the British Prime Minister has passed away under mysterious circumstances, all leaders of the Western world must attend his funeral. But what starts out as the most protected event on earth, turns into a deadly plot to kill the world’s most powerful leaders and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. The President of the United States, his formidable secret service head and an English MI-6 agent who trusts no one are the only people that have any hope of stopping it.

Okay. Okay. Yeah.

Honestly this sounds like one of your standard ‘government fears’ movie.

London Has Fallen plays to certain people’s fears, their innate deference to authority, and their pleasure at having the world remain unchanged. Some people really do enjoy it when the day is saved by the ‘good guys’ who kill all of the mean ‘bad guys’.

It’s a pretty common, safe, and bland plot line.

The producers further sell the movie by using popular actors *cough cough Morgan Freeman*

London Has Fallen won’t be anything to remark about I promise you.

But my thoughts wont matter… what will happen is that London Has Fallen will open to good reviews from every single popular news site, the movie will be trashy and hated by those who go to see it but their voices will be drowned out or conveniently hidden, and only after they’ve raked in a bunch of monies the opening week will we finally start seeing people talk about how stupid it was.

London Has Fallen is just such an unimaginative standard film.
