Kevin Spacey has apparently, and unfortunately, chosen to live his life in an abusive manner.
In an interview with BuzzFeed News, Rapp is publicly alleging for the first time that in 1986, Spacey befriended Rapp while they both performed on Broadway shows, invited Rapp over to his apartment for a party, and, at the end of the night, picked Rapp up, placed him on his bed, and climbed on top of him, making a sexual advance. According to public records, Spacey was 26. Rapp was 14.
You can read the entire thing if you want, but that paragraph alone should make things clear to you.
Not one to make things better, Kevin Spacey then released a statement.
A crappy statement with a crappy excuse.
Drunk drivers rejoice, for the excuse ‘i was drunk’ is apparently acceptable!
But hey it seems Netflix is apparently on top of things… so I guess that’s nice…
Netflix announced today that House of Cards will end after its next season.
The news comes after actor Anthony Rapp told BuzzFeed that House of Cards star Kevin Spacey made a sexual advance toward him when Rapp was only 14. However, TVLine reports that the decision was not a response to Rapp’s allegations, and in fact was made months ago.
“… the decision … was made months ago.”
I’d hate for there to ever be a direct consequence for people’s atrocious behavior lolololol
The reality is that over and over again abusive individuals get a free pass to hurt whoever they like whenever they like. It is, apparently, a fundamental aspect of Hollywood. Perhaps it is the sheer amount of media these people are able to command, their ability to lie and obfuscate unchallenged… or perhaps it’s all due to their money. I do not know.
I do not even know if the allegations against Kevin Spacey are completely true. I think they are, I’m going to assume you think they are too, but we do not know.
But what I do know, is that this behavior is not exclusive to Kevin Spacey and is something that can’t continue.
