Prismatic Evolutions cards are ugly, or at least it seems that a general consensus on Reddit is forming that the Prismatic Evolutions cards are ugly. Everyone seems to hate the gemstone crowns on the Pokemon.
People are complaining the cards are too busy and it ruins the artwork. And man do people hate those crowns. Apparently the Umbreon could have been Moonbreon 2.0 but that crown ruins everything, that seems to be the general consensus. But the thing is we haven’t seen all of the cards in the set yet… and I’ll point out that cards look different once you get to see them in real life.
So people might flip from hating to loving the Prismatic Evolutions set.
But you know everyone is buying Prismatic Evolutions product because of hype. They’re buying because they don’t want to miss out on a special set just like they missed out on SV 151. (If you don’t want to miss out GameStop still has pre orders available)
But there are people who are legitimately saving their money to buy The Glory of Team Rocket set we have coming up in 2025. The hype for that set is MASSIVE. So maybe the hype for Prismatic Evolutions isn’t so bad. The Glory of Team Rocket set in my opinion is actually going to surpass the popularity of SV 151 and Prismatic Evolutions combined. So that’s going to be interesting and you’ll probably see me writing endless articles about it in 2025.
I mean people who hate the artwork of the Prismatic Evolutions set are seriously buying Prismatic Evolutions product just because they don’t want to miss out if the set does in fact become super popular. Which is kind of… sad? I’m not sure the hobby was meant to be a profit focused hype machine.
Anyway, to sum up Prismatic Evolutions is being hyped up despite it having ugly cards and The Glory of Team Rocket is going to demolish the hype of Prismatic Evolutions and SV 151.
